FED: Coal to continue to be top power generator: specialist
GOLD COAST, Qld, Feb 25 AAP - Coal would remain Australia's and one of the world's prime
sources of electricity generation despite opposition from environmentalists, an electricity
industry specialist said today.
Dr Alan Moran, the deregulation unit director of the Institute of Public Affairs, said the
Kyoto Greenhouse targets were not politically sustainable and he believed coal would continue
to be Australia's preferred choice in power generation.
Australia was allocated an eight per cent increase in emissions by 2010 in the summit …
